CEMEX Dominican Republic celebrated the value of Dominican construction alongside prominent business leaders and architects, awarding and selecting the projects that will represent the country in Mexico. CEMEX Dominican Republic recognized outstanding construction projects at the thirteenth annual CEMEX Dominican Republic Building Awards, an initiative that acknowledges the best architectural developments in the country, their value, innovation, functionality, and focus on social responsibility.

During the event, held in the La Fiesta Ballroom of the Hotel Jaragua, Alejandro Ramírez Cantú, Director of the Caribbean Cluster at CEMEX, stated that the competition represents the highest award for Dominican architecture and engineering, reflecting the entrepreneurial and creative spirit of the country's construction professionals. This year, 45 projects participated and were evaluated by a jury headed by architect and monument conservation expert José Enrique Delmonte.

The projects were awarded in five categories, and the first-place winners are: Villa Canca in the Residential Housing category; Colinas del Viento, Phase III in the Affordable Housing category; Hefzi-Bá received the award for Best Building; the Reception Pier and LPG Coastal Dominicana received the Infrastructure award; and the Malecón de Santo Domingo waterfront promenade received two awards: one for Collective Space and the other for Universal Accessibility. In the special awards category, the Intercontinental Free Zone stood out as the best Sustainable Building; the Innovation in Construction award went to the Retrofit and construction of the second level at the Salomé Ureña Training Institute; and the Social Value award went to the Binational Market in the Northern Transborder Region of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

The journey for these winners has only just begun, as they will have the opportunity to travel to Mexico this November, all expenses paid, to represent their countries at the CEMEX Works International Awards. The winners in the various categories and special awards in Mexico will receive an international statuette created by sculptor Miguel Ángel González. During the awards ceremony, the Titan Recognitions were also presented, honoring Cemento Titán customers in the categories of Loyalty and Sales Growth. Similarly, the Construrama Recognitions were awarded, highlighting the loyalty, growth, and image maintenance of the most outstanding hardware stores affiliated with the network.
